Action against vehicles parked in no-parking zones

Bhilai, Jul 23: The illegal parking of vehicles on roadsides, especially in busy areas has become a major concern for the authorities responsible for regulating traffic in the city. Violating the rules, many people park their vehicles in no-parking zones and create congestion for traffic movement.
Considering the situation, SP Prashant Agrawal directed the Traffic Police to take strict action against the haphazardly parked vehicles on roadsides as well as vehicles parked in no-parking zones.
Under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Kavilash Tondon and leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Gurjeet Singh, the traffic police targeted the vehicles parked in market areas which were obstructing the road.
Action was taken in Indira Market Durg and Akashganga and Dakshin Gangotri Market in Supela. Action was taken against the vehicles parked in the no-parking zone as well as the heavy vehicles parked in Canal Road of Bhilai.
The two-wheelers were confiscated and transported to the Traffic Zone Offices. The vehicles were handed over to the owners after checking their documents and collecting fines. The patrolling vehicles are also announcing on loud speakers and are instructing the drivers standing on the roadside to park their vehicle at the designated parking place only.
The drive against such violators will be conducted regularly. Traffic Police had appealed to the drivers and shopkeepers of Durg city to not park the vehicles in front of their shops and direct the drivers to park the vehicles in the designated parking lots only.
