Accused nabbed with counterfeit notes worth Rs 54.37 lakhs

Bhilai, Jul 18: Rajgarh police from Madhya Pradesh (MP) nabbed a person from Bhilai having a factory of printing counterfeit Indian currency and seized cash worth Rs 54 lakhs in fake currency and other materials for printing the same from his possession here on Sunday. The accused is considered to be the main mastermind behind this and has as on date already consumed fake notes to the tune of Rs 50 lakhs in the market. Apart from this Rajgarh Police informed that he had plans to publish another around Rs 1 crore of fake Indian currency.
Rajgarh SP Pradeep Sharma informed that on June 26, at Inder Chowk in Jeerapur, two persons in the name of Shankar and Ramchandra were nabbed with fake notes. Both were taken into police remand and interrogated. It was based upon their reference, one Kamal Yadav was nabbed and who in turn informed that he is bringing fake notes from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. It was with help of Cyber Cell, under ‘Operation-C.G’, a team was sent to Chhattisgarh and here the team by raiding in Chawani thana area of Bhilai, nabbed the main mastermind from his house involved in printing fake currency.
SP informed that after inquiry, when the search of his room was done, they all were taken aback. Here the accused was literally running a factory of printing counterfeit notes in the denomination of Rs 2000, Rs 500 and Rs 200. Here the police recovered fake notes worth Rs 54,37,200 from the premises. The accused was printing these counterfeit with help of 5 printers, 2 paper-cutter, frames of fake notes; laptop, LED monitor, CPU, laminator, water mark frame, special ink. The police had also recovered the paper kept in store to print another lot of fake notes worth Rs 1 crore.
During inquiry it was learnt that the accused belongs to Indore and prior to this he was arrested in Indore for printing fake notes in 2003. After this he shifted to Chhattisgarh and started the same work here as well. He took a room on rent and was having a network all over the country to distribute fake notes. The police is holding inquiry with him and trying to know the places where he had consumed the fake notes.
SP informed that the accused used to take help of social media to supply fake notes and used to give attractive offers through Youtube and other mediums to consume his fake currency. In place of consuming fake notes worth Rs 1 lakh, he used to pay the person Rs 30000 in real currency. It is getting in touch the accused the people were consuming counterfeit notes in the market and so far they have already spent around Rs 50 lakhs in the market.
