‘Accord international status to Swami Vivekananda airport’

Raipur, Feb 07: Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh on his arrival in capital on Sunday was met at Circuit House by a delegation of Travel Agents Association led by former MP and CG president of Travel Agent Association of India Kirti Vyas. The delegation demanded to accord international status to Swami Vivekananda airport and start flight for Thailand and Dubai from here. It was also demanded for direct flight to Pune, Goa and Jaipur, available prior to COVID-19 pandemic. The delegation apprised that 12000-15000 students from Chhattisgarh study in Pune and it will easy for them to travel Pune and other places. In the same way about 20,000 passengers from Chhattisgarh every month travel to foreign countries. Now they travel via Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad for which they need to shell extra money. Puri expressed satisfaction on the statistics of passengers from Raipur and assured to soon start services for Pune, Jaipur, Bhopal and Goa from Raipur. The delegation was joined by Association president Raman Jadwani, Anchal Lunkard and others.
