Narayanpur, Jul 13: With the onset of rains, natural springs and waterfalls are given birth by nature itself deep into Abhujmad, also called den of the Maoist and the colour red. But also forged into the deep jungles are places yet to be explored, as locals inform about the many deemed naturally beautiful places in the area, which needs to be developed into tourist spots.
Central Chronicle, since the last many years, has been promoting the interiors of Jagdalpur and Bastar to the outer world, in transparency and the real spirit of journalism. Abhujmad, famous for its culturally driven scenic beauty, is though inaccessible for adventure enthusiast as of now, but if roads to these scenic places are opened for tourist, blocking Naxal intervention, the entire region, known for its natural beauty will take the hinterlands of Chhattisgarh world famous and also one of the most sought after places in India. Regions of Kachhapal, Handawada, and areas surrounding Harimarka village have waterfalls, which seldom have been reached by many, owing to Naxal fear and poor resources. There are no trails or roads to take one into the exact location of the waterfall, which according to locals have been visited by very little outsiders. Todgermeta Waterfall, of Kachapal region is a promising venue for tourist attraction, favouring trekkers and rock climbers, as one has to climb approximately 10 kilometers above sea level to reach the waterfall, some 42 kilometers from the District Headquarters.
The best part about the waterfall is that it falls 12 months continuously and monsoon brings with it all the glory to the far flung waterfall, far away from the outer world. Also new to the outer world is Nogowaga and Atekchaad waterfall, some 50 kilometers from the District Headquarters. What is needed of, both the District Administration and the State Government is mining the region out to the world, promoting local tourism.
