75th I-Day celebration held at Kalinga University
Raipur, Aug 16: Kalinga University, Raipur celebrated Azadi ka AmritMahotsav in the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. On the occasion of Independence Day. Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, under secretary, social welfare department, Government of Chhattisgarh, Raipur was the chief guest. The celebration was enlightened with the presence of Kalinga University Vice chancellor- Dr. R. Shridhar, Registrar- Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, all Dean’s, HoDs, Senior Professors & faculty members along with all our students were present in the lawn area of campus for the patriotic celebration.
Dr. Harsha Patil, Head, Department of education welcomed and introduced the guest and other dignitaries followed the hoisting of national flag by the chief guest and national anthem. Rajesh Tiwari, in his speech enlightened the spirit of freedom and nationalism with grace. Tiwari addressed the younger generation about the freedom that has been achieved with loss of blood and cherished by us. He also mentioned not to take the freedom for granted and advised to utilize the most of it while we can. In his speech Mr. Rajesh Tiwari also mentioned that true patriotism only can be achieved when we respect our freedom and the fighters whose blood and life has been sacrificed to achieve the same. The enthusiasm of the occasion was well exhibited by the students and teachers of Kalinga University through delivery of patriotic poems and speeches. The students shed light on the special occasion of “Azadi ka AmritMahotsav”. The celebrations concluded with inspiring words of Dr. R. Shridhar (Vice Chancellor) of the University followed by vote of thanks from Dr. AshaAmbhaikar (Dean, Student welfare) and tree plantation by the Chief Guest under the guidance of NSS programme officer Mrs. Smita Premanand. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav concluded with distribution of sweets.
