7-day Swadeshi Mela will be held from Feb 26
Raipur, Feb 19: The much awaited Swadeshi Mela of Raipurians, which is held regularly every year, will be inaugurated on February 26 at Government Science College Ground. In the first phase of the preparations the bhumi poojan was held at the fair venue on Thurday in which distinguished citizens, public representatives and social workers of the city were present. In order to inculcate the spirit of Swadeshi among the people, the Swadeshi Mela has been organized by the Indian Marketing Development Center (CBMD) in various cities of the state for the last several years. In this sequence, the fair will be held in Raipur, the state capital from February 26. For the past many years, the Swadeshi fair was held at BTI Ground Shankar Nagar, but this time the event will be held at Science College ground. Indian Marketing Development Center manager Subrata Chaki told that in this 7-day fair, which runs from February 26 to March 4, traders from about 20 states of the country including Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal will put up their stalls. Various cultural events will also be held during this period. On this occasion, precautions will also be taken in the event in view of Corona crisis. The fair can be entered only by applying a mask. On the occasion of Bhoomi Pujan, Sangwari Foundation Director Jagdish Patel, Councilor Amar Bansal, Institute of Science Technology Chhattisgarh Former Director General Mukund Mohan Hamberde, Shatabdi Pandey, former Chairperson of Child Rights Protection Commission Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, Swadeshi Mela Co-organizer Vivek Vardhan, Kanhaiya Mahato, Prakash Thakur, Rohit Sahu, Naveen Sharma, Ashu Chandravanshi, Anurag Agarwal, Devendra Gupta, GR Jagat, and others were present.
