230 villagers benefitted from free health check-up

Bhilai, Nov 28: With the objectives of providing health benefits to the people of rural areas and to make them health conscious, free health check-up was organized under the joint aegis of local village panchayat and district health committee at village Teligundra of Patan development block in district Durg. In the camp, about 230 people got health tests done and received free consultation from doctors.
Skin Diseases and Leprosy Examination, General Health Examination, Eye Examination, Dentistry, Mental Health Consultancy, Examination of Pregnant Mothers, Child Health Examination, Medical Consultation, National Vector Borne Disease Control, BP Sugar Test, etc were done at the camp. AYUSH and Homeopathic wing stalls were set up for examination and consultation of diseases.
The villagers also got the facility of physiotherapy, other therapies and counselling. 230 people from village Teligundra and surrounding rural areas were examined, treated and counselled. Dr Mohit Ram Soni (Pediatrician), Dr Sreesanth Dubey (Dermatologist) and Dr Ashish Sharma (Block Medical Officer Patan) and all Doctors and RMN of Community Health Center Patan were present.
Services were provided by ANM, Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, Assistant Ophthalmic Officer and other medical staff. At the outset, Ashok Kumar Sahu (Vice President of District Panchayat), Ashwani Kumar Sahu (Mandi President Durg) and Dr Gambhir Singh Thakur (Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Durg) and Dr Anil Kumar Shukla (District Leprosy Officer Durg) and other public representatives were present.
The program began with lighting the lamps and administering oath to fight against leprosy. In this program, school children performed yoga and displayed beautiful tableaux. A rally was taken out by school children. They raised slogans related to leprosy and tried to create awareness among masses.
Retired (NMA/NMS) including S D Banjare, P R Banjare, KP Panda, KS Verma made special contribution in organising the event. DP Verma conducted the programme. Teligundra Sarpanch Manish Patel made commendable contribution in this event.
